Malaga Mature Teen Residence Program > Getting There
Getting to MalagaWhat airport should I arrive to? For the Mature Teen Residence Program in Malaga, you should arrive to the Malaga International Airport where you will be met by a school chaperone in the arrival's hall. When should I arrive? You should plan to arrive on a Sunday and depart on a Saturday (there are no time restrictions for this program). For flights from the US/Canada this means leaving the US/Canada on a Saturday and flying overnight for a Sunday morning arrival in Europe. How can I get to Malaga from the US/Canada? There are no direct flights between the US/Canada and Malaga that arrive on a Sunday so you will need to change planes at an airport hub in the UK or Europe (typically London, Paris or Madrid). Here are some possibilities (your travel agent may have additional options):
If you would like to arrive on a Saturday (extra program costs apply - call us on 1 888 386 1411 for details) you can fly on Delta Airlines from New York (JFK) direct to Malaga. Please keep in mind that you will be arriving a day early for this program. There are no planned activities for Saturday night or Sunday morning so you may feel a little lonely and isolated until the program officially starts Sunday afternoon. I'm not comfortable making an overseas flight connection at an international airport This program is intended for the mature teen who is comfortable with a fair amount of independence and has had some previous overseas travel experience. If you are not comfortable making an overseas flight connection you and your parents may find the level of independence for this particular program to be too much. If this is the case, we recommend that you consider another program such as the Teen Residence Program in Tarragona or the Teen Homestay Program in Costa Rica.
